The island of Evia, located to the east of Central

Lihada Church". The church is home to the miraculous icon of
"Panagia", the mother of Jesus Christ.

The "Panagia Lihada Church" is one with a very interesting
history, as well as containing some beautiful icons, frescoes
and religious decorations.
There are several celebrations and festivals that take place at
the church during the year, to which all visitors are welcome
to attend and join in with the festivites. The biggest of the
celebrations takes place on the 15th August, the day of Panagia's
death. The 29th Decemeber sees the celebrations for the name day
of Panagia.
For visitors to Evia who are staying in Agios Georgios or Lihada,
or who be simply passing through, it is the perfect opportunity
to visit this truly unique and magical church.
